Today (Friday 25th September) a delegation from Drew University, New Jersey will be visiting Donegal with a view to exploring areas for partnership and collaboration with regard to the whole Life Sciences sector.
The delegation is being hosted by Donegal County Council as part of the Donegal Diaspora project and includes Professor Philip Scibilia, Head of Life Sciences, Professor William Rogers, Dean of Life Sciences and Dr. Niamh Hamill from the Institute of Study Abroad Ireland, Drew University.
The visit will provide the opportunity to explore areas for partnership and collaboration with regard to the whole Life Sciences sector. This is an area of increasing importance to Donegal as evidenced for example by the major expansion taking place at Randox Teoranta as well as the recent development of the North West Regional Science Park and the initiatives being developed at Donegal Clinical Research Academy.
The delegation will commence their visit at Randox Teoranta in Dungloe, followed by a visit to the recently developed North West Regional Science Park at Letterkenny Institute of Technology. The delegation will then meet with representatives from the Donegal Clinical Research Academy at Letterkenny General Hospital.
